What is the U3A ?

U3A is a UK-wide movement of retired and semi-retired people who come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment.

It's all voluntary; a typical U3A will be home to many activity groups covering hundreds of different subjects - from art to zoology and everything in between.

The Farnborough & District U3A

was set up over thirty years ago, and now has over 100 activity groups. Some are academic,others are practical. Those interested in physical activities can join dance, walking, various keep-fit / exercise groups as well as some sport groups.

What does it cost?

The annual membership fee is £33 . Attendance at most (*) activities is then free.

* Some activities have professional tutors and a charge is made for these to cover the tutor’s costs. A charge is also made for those activities which require a special facility. These include:

Badminton, Bowls , Bowls Outdoor, Petanque

Keep Fit , Line Dancing, Pilates, Yoga , Water Aerobics, Zumba

How many activity groups can you join?

There is no limit on the number of activities you join although, some groups have physical and other constraints which oblige them to limit numbers. ,
